RIRS (Retrograde Intra renal Surgery) is a procedure done to remove stones from the kidneys without making an incision. In retrograde intra renal surgery, a scope is inserted through the urethra to the bladder and to the kidneys, once the specialist has a visual of the stone, they would be able to handle it better either by using an ultrasound to break it up or a laser or can even capture smaller stones using foreceps.
